Safer

I have noticed that the City Council has very thoughtfully provided the good people of Nottingham with a selection of large posters in the City centre and on various buses featuring the word 'SAFER' above photos of a Fireman, a Council warden (community protection officer), PCSO and Police Constable.

Do these posters make us safer because of some sort of sympathetic magic?

Or is it telling us that we are safer in a 'you are safer because we are telling you that you are safe'?

Or is it a poster reminding us that the people featured in the poster are safer than the average person because they are trained and equipped to deal with dangerous situations than ever before?

I just think they are probably just a waste of money to be honest and I doubt we are any safer regardless.
